SMART 1940s BLACK VELOUR ASYMMETRICAL HAT WITH FELT & SEQUIN BANDS & RED FEATHER
download picture
description
This 1940s small black velour hat has a small brim covering about half of the crown on the left front, and the right side of the crown features felt bands decorated with black sequins. This creates an unusual and beautiful asymmetrical look. To finish the look there is a red ostrich feather towards the back of the hat.
Small, close to the head hats were popular in the 1940s women’s fashion. These hats were adorned with sequins, ribbons, small flowers, and veils. The use of feathers was also preferred.
Imprinted on the felt inside the crown: MERRIMAC - PEACHBLOOM VELOUR - IMPORTED FUR
This hat is in wonderful vintage condition and has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Mannequin not for sale.
